We are excited to partner True Align Yoga School's 200HR YTT with our friends in Peoria, IL at Studio C Fitness. Founded in 2018, Studio C Fitness has quickly established itself as a beacon for those seeking to embark on a journey of personal transformation through movement. Specializing in Dance, Cardio, Yoga, and Strength classes, the studio prides itself on offering a wide array of options to suit individuals at any stage of their fitness journey. With an emphasis on creating an inclusive and supportive culture, Studio C Fitness welcomes members of all fitness levels into its community, where every person is valued and supported.

At the helm of Studio C Fitness are co-owners Cathy S. Plouzek and James "J’r" Haywood, who share a unified vision for the studio. Their leadership is characterized by a commitment to fostering a family-like atmosphere where instructors and members alike are dedicated to each other’s health and wellness. This approach has cultivated a vibrant community where everyone, from beginners to seasoned athletes, can find motivation, support, and a sense of belonging.

With this partnership, you have the opportunity to learn In Person at Studio C Fitness in Peoria, IL; at The Fitness Collective ATL, or online (Live Instruction/Real Time) for each module weekend (Friday-Sunday) once per month, for six months.

Study & Learn to Teach

Kemetic + Vedic Yoga 

Discovery begins with The Practice + History of Yoga - students understand + discuss yoga lineages (specifically beginning with Kemetic/Egyptian/Afrikan) & the unique qualities that define each style. Dive into the past philosophy of yoga from Egypt to India with introductions to Ancient texts.

Subtle Bodies | Intro to A+P

Yoga Poses + Sanskrit, Foundations of Hatha Yoga with emphasis on Vinyasa sequencing. Scratch the surface of the subtle bodies Chakras, Koshas + Nadis & their relationship with the nervous + endocrine systems. Begin to understand the Anatomy + Physiology of Yoga for every body.

Ashtanga Experience

Ashtanga is a traditional practice, and is the historical basis of all classes we call
"power" or "flow" or "vinyasa." But one big difference is that traditionally, the
Ashtanga practice is not taught in group classes led by a teacher! Instead, the practice is shared person-to-person "Mysore-style."

Sequencing | FASCIA | Anatomy

Intuitively Sequence Yoga Poses + utilize Sanskrit, Practice teaching the Alignment Principles w/ emphasis on Vinyasa sequencing. Deepen knowledge around the nervous + endocrine systems with yoga. Learn hands-on  Assists+Adjustments w/ trauma informed somatic lens.

YIN+Restorative & Meditation

We dive deeper into the explanation of fascia using descriptive phrases that help students to get a clearer sense for this pervasive tissue and how Yin Yoga helps with release, exploration, and muscle innervation. Experience the ease of Restorative Yoga w/ multiple use props.

INCLUDED IN YOUR TRAINING

Free Studio Membership to The Fitness Collective ATL AND Studio C Fitness (Peoria, IL) for the duration of our program (some classes required), comprehensive training materials, a custom 108 bead Mala, and other fun surprises, PLUS lodging, meals and transportation *if needed* for the In Person Graduation Retreat in ATL!

Basic Rules + Requirements


In Person Attendants:
  • Transportation to/from the studio
  • Self-discipline 
Joining in Onine:
  • Computer + stable internet connection
  • Zoom installed
  • Webcam *must be on at least 90% for Live training sessions.
  • Self-discipline
To Graduate:
  • Complete all assignments on time
  • Attend all lectures (please note, you may miss three days total without penalty but must submit assignment from recordings for credit)
  • Pass midterm and final exams with a 90 — written and practicum
  • Be responsible for keeping up with weekly module information for LIVE discussion, meditation and/or journaling
  • Teach 4 FREE one hour yoga classes for your community (+ 30 min graduation demo class)
  • Practice 4x a week in studio or online (FREE Membership to The Fitness Collective ATL & Studio C Fitness for the duration of the program)

Transformational Teaching Team

Tiffany Baskett

Tiffany Baskett, embodies the essence of a well-being educator with her diverse certifications and experience. Tiffany is an AFAA/NASM certified group fitness professional, liturgical/contemporary dancer, former Licensed Massage Therapist, Medical NeuroMyoFascial Therapist, and multi-faceted Yoga Trainer.

Through True Align Yoga School, Tiffany has developed comprehensive yoga teacher trainings, workshops, and CEU classes, inviting others to join her on a journey towards well-being and self-discovery under her guidance and that of her exceptional teaching team.

Geneva Carroll

 

Geneve is the backbone to True Align Yoga School. As program Director, she makes all things move smoothly and handles organizing and scheduling.  She is amazing at making sure all the expectations are clear and there's plenty of resources for all students when needed.  Geneva holds several Yoga certifications and specialties, and is currently completing Somatic Yoga Therapy to elevate her offerings and our ability to support our community efficiently.  As a wife and mom, family is extremely important to her and she brings her empathetic approach to our trainings with love and clearly communicated boundaries for success. 
 

Mentorship Support Team

Seshen Kwesi

I discovered yoga right after having my first child. I was looking for different ways to stay fit and active. I decided to get 200 hour certified, but did not feel ready to lead my own class yet. It wasn’t until one of my favorite sculpt teachers mentioned during class that I needed to start teaching sculpt that I found the courage to teach. I decided to get certified as a Sculpt Yoga teacher under him and have been teaching ever since.

I have chosen to honor my Ancestors by using Kemetic terms during my yoga classes instead of Sanskrit. For me, yoga is about tapping into the ancient philosophy of Ma’at (balance and harmony). I bring this balance into my class with the practice of strength and flexibility, exertion and releasing. So, my classes combine both strength and mobility work in dynamic flow sequences. Expect to move, sweat, breathe and become one with a practice that began thousands of years ago.

Cathy Plouzek

Cathy S. Plouzek, founder, and co-owner of Studio C Fitness, embodies a deep-rooted passion for group fitness and yoga, backed by expertise in all Buti Movement Formats. Holding an RYT 200 certification, Cathy excels in welcoming beginners to the transformative world of group and yoga, nurturing a supportive and empowering atmosphere. Her commitment to health and wellness extends through every class she leads, aiming to inspire individuals to explore and expand their physical and emotional boundaries.

Katelyn Meyer

Katelyn Meyer is a student of the yogic path, studying to further her practice in yoga, holistic health and fitness, and spiritual life coaching. She believes your internal world reflects into your external reality, therefore creating a better world begins within each of us. 

Katelyn is a Trauma-Informed 500 Hour Registered Yoga Teacher with a passion for guiding others through transformative experience on the mat.  Specializing in Vinyasa and Deep yoga classes, she empowers her students to flow into the depths of their practice.
